Renée is the firm’s Managing Partner for the Trademark Practice and the New York office of Nolte Lackenbach Siegel. Over the course of her career, she has managed intellectual property assets from a business, law firm, and in-house perspective. This experience provides an uncommon combination of insight that makes her a valuable resource for clients on issues related to both the business and legal aspects of intellectual property. The creative and entrepreneurial spirit that is so often found within this area of law is what she thrives on.

Renée has protected and managed thousands of trademarks, copyrights and domain names and has advised on various issues related to intellectual property in several capacities. Before and while attending law school she worked in the business world, during which time she worked in licensing, creative, and operations positions on both a full time and freelance basis in the sports and entertainment industries. Her subsequent legal career has included working for high-profile, household name companies, as well as with numerous start-up’s and entrepreneurs in a wide variety of industries.

Renée currently primarily focuses on U.S. trademark prosecution, title and security interest issues, US Customs matters, and domain name registration conflicts and strategies. She also advises clients in connection with contracts and securing commercially viable outlets for their intellectual property rights. Renée has spoken widely on the benefits of and strategies for intellectual property within businesses of all sizes.

In addition to the practice of law, Renée has created and taught online courses for education in intellectual property and has been a mentor for students preparing for the New York State Bar Examination. She has also created a great deal of her own intellectual property in various visual arts and is a skilled photographer, which was the spark that initially fueled her interest in pursuing the practice of law within the field of intellectual property.
